A research paper in biology is one composed of data and other important information gathered by the researcher. Accuracy of the results and clear presentation of information and data are key features in a biology research paper. Standard biological research leaves little or no room for errors. Errors found make the work irrelevant and non-usable and such work cannot be presented. .
In biological sciences, the Methods section might be more detailed, but the aims are to present the study clearly so that it is understandable and can be duplicated. Experienced researchers could write this section keeping in their mind all main directions, but we would recommend for beginners to group the information under appropriate subheadings and name them accordingly, e.g. in vitro, in vivo and in silico studies, materials and reagents, statistics, etc.
Pay detailed attention to object used (animals, plants, humans), list and describe them carefully. Make your effort to describing the key features, kind and characteristic of species, their scientific name(s), numbers, size, weight, etc.
In addition, specify object handling or care prior to experiments. Even insufficient details could influence onto your object and the result of the investigation. Therefore, describe them to not avoid any factor may negatively or positively affect it.
II. Location & Time
Study of life and life forms is quite tedious and lengthy and keeping data is not easy. Usually, much of the work done is confined within laboratories and field work. 
Therefore, describe a location of the experiment, precise whether it is premises/lab or site, characterize them descriptively, including physical and biological features; insert a map or schematic drawing, if applicable. You can also mention the climate and weather conditions.
Do not ignore the time of experiment. Determine it while the experiments and then summarize the total time you used in research, mention how long it took you before the first results. It will obviously help readers to better understand the experiment in duration.
Here we ought to be focused on samples we gathered for study. It will be valuable to mention the source or origin of the materials, how and when they were collected or obtained; what reasons you were guided while choosing them. You may also note if your samples were similar or dissimilar to that your predecessors and cited scientists studied, or that might commonly practice in the scientific world.
Thus, the identification of the samples should be based on all variety of aspects, where it is applicable.
Keep in mind that because of the potential for variation, biology experiments need to have a large sample size and, ideally, be repeated several times. Sample size refers to the number of individual items tested in an experiment. However, having more samples and repeating the experiment more times makes it less likely that we will reach a wrong conclusion because of random variation.
IV. Techniques & Procedure.
Here you should describe techniques and protocol, as well as the explanations why they were used in the experiments. Uncover their peculiar features and preferences, if any; compare with others that have been used earlier. New methods and protocols should be described in detail while well-established methods can be briefly described and appropriately cited.
Demonstrate that you used scientifically valid methods. It will be a manifest factor for credibility of your work.
Show all procedural steps you took in chronological order.
Report unanticipated events that occurred during your data collection. Explain how the actual analysis differs from the planned analysis. Explain your handling of missing data and why any missing data does not undermine the validity of your analysis. 
It is obvious that experiment shall be controlled.
What are the key ingredients of a controlled experiment? To illustrate, let’s consider a simple (even silly) example. Suppose I decide to grow bean sprouts in my kitchen, near the window. I put bean seeds in a pot with soil, set them on the windowsill, and wait for them to sprout. However, after several weeks, I have no sprouts. Why not? Well…it turns out I forgot to water the seeds. So, I hypothesize that they didn’t sprout due to lack of water. To test my hypothesis, I do a controlled experiment. In this experiment, I set up two identical pots. Both contain ten bean seeds planted in the same type of soil, and both are placed in the same window. In fact, there is only one thing that I do differently to the two pots:
- One pot of seeds gets watered every afternoon.
- The other pot of seeds doesn’t get any water at all…
After a week, nine out of ten seeds in the watered pot have sprouted, while none of the seeds in the dry pot have sprouted. It looks like the “seeds need water” hypothesis is probably correct!
Clearly describe control and experimental groups. The control group provides a baseline that lets us see if the treatment has an effect. 
V. Materials and Reagents
Now you could go to equipment you applied including all tools and instruments for measurements. Here you shall specify all data, including the model numbers, brand, year, and specific settings of all equipment used.
Here you can also mention all reagents, other chemical components or additives were used, their amount and scientific names.
VI. Research Ethics
Authors should ensure that their research complies with the common-accepted ethical guidelines for the use of animals in research. Any experimental work must have been conducted in accordance with relevant national legislation on the use of animals for research. Manuscripts containing original descriptions of research conducted on experimental animals must comprise details of approval by a properly research ethics committee citing the project identification code, date of approval and name of the ethics committee or institutional review board.
While experimenting on humans, indicate if the procedures have been done in adherence to the ethical standards of the corresponding Authorities or/and the Declaration of Helsinki of 1975 revised in 2013.
Biologists and other scientists also use statistical tests to help them distinguish real differences from differences due to random variation (e.g., when comparing experimental and control groups). 
Choose a minimally sufficient statistical procedure. The preferred statistical method, and the justifications with referencing for this preference should be indicated.  Give as much information about the statistical tests as possible.
Mention all devices, the name and version of software as well as database, you applied for any processing of statistical data.

– Use narrative, not imperative style. It should not be sounded like lab manuals how to conduct experiments, but as report from you.
– Follow a consistent pattern of tenses. Although it is acceptable to write in either the active or passive voice, you should write in the active voice unless you have good reason to use the passive voice.
On hatch day, and every day thereafter for 9 days, we weighed chicks, measured their tibia length, and calculated the instantaneous growth constant K to summarize rates of mass gain and skeletal growth. 
– Use the illustrations, figures, tables. It will help to present information which is difficult to explain in words. Many people respond better to pictures as means of illustration.
